NAPSA for employers: registration, contributions and penalties explained
What you owe, when you owe it, and how to fix arrears without drama.

NAPSA is the one regulator almost every employer underestimates. Registration is simple, but the monthly discipline it demands catches many small businesses out.
Who must register
Any employer with at least one employee, including companies where the only employee is a director drawing a salary. Each employee must have a social security number, which we obtain during onboarding.
How much and when
Contributions are a percentage of gross earnings shared between employer and employee, capped at a ceiling that is revised each year. Returns and payments are due by the 10th of the following month.
If you are behind
Penalties accrue monthly on unpaid contributions. The fastest route back is a reconciliation of your statement, filing the missing schedules, and agreeing a payment plan. We do this routinely and it is almost always cheaper than clients fear.
